House of Bamboo

BOSO is a bamboo consumer goods business based on the promise of being good and doing good. Nice slogan, but what does that mean?! It means that we give a shit. We care about the environment and people, it’s why the business was set up.

About Us

What are our goals?

Our two primary goals are to help reduce deforestation by providing bamboo consumer goods instead of wood pulp derivatives, while at the same time helping people in our local and global communities that need help. Our first being women who are experiencing period poverty. We continually ask ourselves what type of world do we want to live in and help create? Our answer it’s a kinder more compassionate society, not just to each other but also the planet.

What is our approach?

Every product across our range that is bought directly reduces deforestation, the more consumers choose alternative brands that don’t use wood pulp the less trees are cut down. It’s that simple. And with each purchase 5% of the purchase price goes each month (not some vague yearly profit figure!) to our partners to help combat period poverty. At Boso we believe that we have to help each other and the planet by taking daily action. By choosing consumer goods that people use every day, we help people to take action on a daily basis. Every time people use our products they are having a positive impact, they should be proud of this!

Are we a charity?

Nope – we want to shake up big business and show that you can make a healthy profit, and still do good.

Choose Grass
Not Trees

It takes 50 years for a tree to regrow after being cut down.

Bamboo grows faster (ready for harvest in just 3 years), absorbs massive amounts of carbon during this rapid growth phase, and can be re-harvested annually for 50 years!

It’s common sense – use grass not trees.

Our Mission

Together we can end period poverty

At BOSO we don’t think it should cost more to be a woman.

Our aim is to work with UNICEF and Action Aid to help reduce period poverty in the UK and around the world. 5% of every purchase will go towards helping women have safe and dignified periods.
